Mental Health Week Celebration

Report on Mental Health Week 2025 A 5-Day Interactive Gamified Wellness Experience

Venue: Online Platform

Dates: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th October 2025

Organizers: IGNITERS – I MCA & Dept. of Health and Wellness

The Mental Health Week celebration was a five-day immersive digital experience designed to normalize mental well-being through gamification. Organized by the IGNITERS team of I MCA at Marian College, Kuttikkanam, from 6th to 10th October 2025, the event aimed to empower participants with self-care tools, stress management strategies, and emotional awareness using interactive web-based applications.

Day 1: 6th October 2025

The first day of the Mental Health Week commenced with the launch of "Brain Battery," a futuristic self-care application. The session began with an introduction to the concept of "Mental Energy Balance," where the facilitators emphasized the importance of treating one's mind with the same care as a rechargeable device. To set the tone, the metaphor of a phone battery was introduced—explaining how stress drains energy while self-care recharges it. Participants engaged with the browser-based app, starting their virtual battery at 0% and performing real-life "recharge" actions such as hydration, walking, and listening to music. The day focused on building consistent habits, with students earning gamified badges like "First Charge" and "Full Power" for their progress. The day concluded with participants sharing their "Battery Scores," fostering a sense of community and mutual encouragement regarding daily productivity and rest.

Day 2: 7th October 2025

The second day was devoted to mindfulness and emotional regulation through the game "Calm Cloud." The focus of the day was on identifying stressful triggers and responding to them with composure. Participants began with an "Initial Happiness Check," rating their emotional state on a 5-star scale. The interactive session involved a game where users had to "catch" stressful thoughts appearing on the screen. Upon catching these thoughts, participants received wisdom quotes and tips, such as "Peace is not selfish; it spreads calm around you." This session helped students visualize how their happiness fluctuates and provided practical takeaways for managing anxiety during high-pressure situations.

Day 3: 8th October 2025

Continuing the momentum, the third day featured the "Mental Health Adventure Game." This session bridged the gap between the initial energy management concepts and deeper introspection. Students navigated through digital scenarios designed to test their decision- making resilience. The activity was designed to be a fun, bridge-event that kept engagement high while subtly reinforcing the coping strategies learned during the first two days. The gamified narrative allowed students to explore mental health themes in a low-stakes, enjoyable environment.

Day 4: 9th October 2025

The fourth day introduced a more introspective tone with the "Wellness Quest" The theme for the day was "Unfolding Potential," visualized through the metaphor of a lotus flower. Participants engaged with a digital tool that asked gentle, reflective questions about their daily habits and mindset. Unlike standard quizzes, this tool focused on identifying personal strengths rather than just weaknesses. The system provided personalized, gentle suggestions to help users build positive habits. The session provided deep insights, helping students understand their unique wellness journeys and encouraging them to adopt a growth-oriented mindset.

Day 5: 10th October 2025

The final day of the Mental Health Week featured "Mindful Moments," a comprehensive web application designed to test focus and problem-solving skills. The session began with a "Personal Welcome," where the app greeted users with inspirational quotes. The highlight of the day was the "Mind Puzzle Challenge," a Sudoku-based activity that tested cognitive agility and focus. If participants struggled, the system provided helpful tips based on their previous stress-assessment scores. The event concluded with the reveal of the Results Dashboard. Each participant received a visual chart summarizing their mental health status, highlighting areas like relaxation, focus, and self-care. The organizers praised the students for their active participation and reminded everyone that, much like the games played during the week, mental health is a continuous journey of balancing stress with care. A digital repository was shared where students could revisit the games and tips whenever they needed a mental recharge.

Value Education

Report on the Session by Anjana V U and N V Edwin On Value Education

Venue: I MCA Classroom
Date: 27th November 2025
Time: 12:45 PM to 01:30 PM
Resource Persons: Renjitha V R & Dyvin Biju

A Value Education session was conducted in our class on the core value “Excellence” by Renjitha V R and Dyvin Biju. The aim of the session was to help students understand that excellence is not about perfection or being better than others, but about consciously using and developing one’s intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, and ethical gifts.

The session began with opening stories that illustrated how excellence emerges when individuals take responsibility for their actions and make sincere efforts even in ordinary situations. This was followed by a micro-reflection activity titled “Your Excellence Equation,” where students reflected on the talents they already use, the abilities they tend to neglect, and the skills they aspire to develop. This activity encouraged self-awareness and personal goal setting.

An interactive “Five Excellences Challenge” was then conducted, focusing on intellectual, social, physical, spiritual, and ethical excellence. Real-life situations were presented for each type, and students actively shared their responses and viewpoints. The discussions helped students understand that excellence involves making responsible choices, maintaining integrity, respecting others, and staying committed to personal well-being and values. Students were further encouraged to complete a reflection form to evaluate how they apply excellence in their daily lives.

Overall, the Value Education session on Excellence was a meaningful and enriching experience. It inspired students to challenge themselves, nurture their abilities with discipline and sincerity, and practice excellence in everyday actions, thereby fostering personal growth and a positive learning environment.
