Aptitude Training- Dr. Sabu Augustine

 

Dr Sabu Augustine conducted an aptitude training session on 20 June 2023 at the Second

MCA Class as a part of the placement preparation program. The session focused on various

aptitude topics, including ratio and proportion, age problems, and rules of the allegation. Additionally,

he introduced new tricks and techniques to solve problems efficiently, and the session included

extensive practice of repeatedly asking questions. Following the discussion on ratio and

proportion, Sabu sir proceeded to cover the topic of age problems. He explained various age-related questions and shared strategies to approach and solve them effectively. By

illustrating examples, he helped the participants develop a logical understanding of age-related

problems. The session further explored the rules of an allegation, a concept used to determine the

average value of mixtures containing different components. Dr Sabu Augustine explained the

principles behind allegation and demonstrated problem-solving techniques using practical

examples. He emphasized the importance of understanding the underlying concepts to apply

them accurately.

Outcome:

The session was highly beneficial for us.The comprehensive coverage of topics such as ratio

and proportion, age problems, and rules of alligation, along with the introduction of new tricks

and techniques, enhanced our aptitude skills. The extensive practice of repeatedly asked

questions improved problem-solving speed and developed a logical approach to solving

problems.

A workshop series on AI Tools

 Mr Jibin Thomas and Mr Libin Jacob of II MCA (2022-24 batch) took the session.

The National level Online Faculty Development Program on ChatGPT & AI Tools for Educators, in-line with OBE, organised by The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Marian College Kuttikanam (Autonomous), in association with The Kerala State Higher Education Council.

Spread across seven days, the FDP sessions will be delivered through live webinars and also through hands-on activities through Learning Management Portal (LMS).

Activity:

A training session on aptitude was conducted by Mr. Nithin at the II MCA venue on June 14, 2023, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The session covered various aptitude topics including coding and decoding, speed and direction, blood relations, order and ranking, seating arrangement, puzzle, and number series.Mr. Nithin commenced the session by providing an in-depth explanation of the aptitude topics mentioned. He introduced students to problem-solving techniques and small tricks that could be employed to solve aptitude questions quickly and efficiently.Additionally, Mr. Nithin emphasized the importance of practice and improvement. He mentioned important websites from where students could download model aptitude question papers, allowing them to enhance their aptitude skills outside of the training session.

He shared valuable tips and insights on how to effectively navigate interviews and increase the chances of success.Moving on to the aptitude sessions, Mr. Sabu Augustine covered important topics like ratio and proportion, as well as speed and distance. He introduced students to various problem-solving techniques and shared small tricks that could be employed to solve aptitude level questions quickly.

Resume Preparation-II MCA Students

Time: 10am - 4pm

A training session was conducted by Mr. Krishnaraj for second-year MCA students on the opening day of the semester. The session focused on resume preparation and group discussion training. The objective was to equip students with essential skills to create effective resumes and enhance their abilities in group discussions.During the session, Mr. Krishnaraj provided insights into resume preparation, emphasizing the importance of a well-crafted resume to highlight skills and qualifications. The topics covered included resume structure, customization, and formatting guidelines. Following the resume preparation segment, the training shifted to group discussion training. Mr. Krishnaraj guided students on effective communication, critical thinking, and collaboration during group discussions. The training highlighted topic selection, active listening skills, and time management strategies. At the end of the session, students were instructed to upload their prepared resumes in a shared Google Drive folder, encouraging them to apply the skills learned and seek feedback.
