Ignite '10-Evaluation & Accounts presentation

Accounts presentation and Evaluation meeting of ignite @ marian '10 was conducted on the 24th of February 2010. Manager - Fr. Ruben J Thannikal, Princial - Fr. A J George, Warden - Fr. James Kozhimala, MCA Director - Mr. Mendus Jacob, the faculty and students of the MCA department attended the function.

All the evaluators commented on the huge success of Ignite '10 and attributed its success to a very powerful III year batch at MCA. The core of the appreciation went to the stage arrangement, escort committee, cultural show and theme show. Ignite'10 also received compliments from director, Mr. Mendus Jacob, for being the ignite with largest fund collection. The evaluation report presented by the evaluation committee was so critical, that it went down into the smallest of details, and yet again received appreciation for the same. Manager, Fr. Ruben J Thannikal, was so pleased with ignite'10, that even after his words of praise during the evaluating speech, he stopped the proceedings of the meeting, yet again, to give positive comments.

I MCAs Reach Out to the needy

I MCA conducted their first outreach programme on   February 18th . The batch visited Navajeevan Trust, Kottayam and Medical College Kottayam. The students were accompanied by MCA faculty, Mr. Robins A Kattoor, Mr. Satheesh Kumar and Ms. Nirmala George.

Navajeevan Trust is home for injured, mentally challenged and for those who have lost their family and loved ones. The batch interacted with the inmates and helped arrange firewood for them. Navajeevan Trust also provides lunch to all in Medical College Kottayam. All the inmates and volunteers take the same food and the batch got an opportunity to share this food.
At medical college, the batch visited different wards of the hospital and interacted with seriously injured and cancer patients and distributed biscuit packets to them. The students ensured that each one of them interacted with atleast three patients.

Miss Tina Abraham is the MCA topper in the 2006-2009 batch. At present she is placed in Infosys and was recruited by Infosys during a campus drive conducted in Marian College campus.



We wish her a bright future !!!!

New logo:Laughing Buddha

Dear All,

As part of brand building exercise clarion is getting a new logo .He is known all over the world.In japanese he is called "Hotei".. His name means "Cloth Sack," and comes from the bag that he carries. He is almost always shown smiling or laughing, hence his nickname in Chinese, the Laughing Buddha."Hotei" in folklore is admired for his happiness, plenitude, and wisdom of contentment.He was an enlightened Zen master .He was engaged in making people laugh and at the same time wiser.

Since the real intention behind this blog is to provide some food for laugh and at the same time to make you wiser , we though "Hotei" is the best bet we can ever imagine for as a logo.eSo lets live with "Hotei"SO.

Ignite @ Marian '10 turned out to be a great success than many expected. It projected the organizing, artistic and imaginative skills of the Marian MCA students. Professionalism was all over the fest. The success was so great that when our students went to Rajagiri college, Ernakulam, to participate in their fest, they were welcomed and treated with a special respect among other participating colleges like Christ, Banglore.
