Faculty Development Program on Research Methodology using ChatGPT & AI tools and Funding Opportunities for Research

This National level online FDP on Research Methodology using ChatGPT & AI tools and Funding Opportunities for Research is being organised by the PG Department of Computer Applications, The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and Lincoln University College Marian Research Centre (LUC MRC) of Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous) in association with The Kerala State Higher Education Council. Spread across eight days, the FDP sessions will be delivered through live webinars and also through hands-on activities and assessments through the Learning Management Portal (LMS).


FDP Outcomes

On completion of this FDP, the participants will be able to:

  • Create quality research papers and contents in any discipline using AI tools.
  • Identify the appropriate methodology, research tools and statistics for analysis of data that are pertinent to the problem of study.
  • Develop plan to produce personalised learning materials, educational contents, learning activities, assessment stacks and personalised method of student’s engagements for actualization of Learning Outcomes.
  • Write concise, coherent and well-structured content free from grammatical errors and with clarity of focus.




Full Stack Development Workshop

The IT Finishing School session, led by Anish S Nair, covered searching and insertion operations, breaking down complex concepts. Anish also guided us through Git versioning, making it more accessible. The hands-on sessions allowed practical application of the learnings, enhancing our understanding.




Outcomes

  1. Participants left the workshop equipped with essential web development skills, ready to create responsive web pages and pursue careers in the field.
  2. Participants left the session feeling empowered with the skills needed to excel in React development, paving the way for their future web projects.
  3. Participants gained practical expertise in React, mastering semi-dynamic and fully dynamic website development, including data binding and API calls, enhancing their skills for modern web development.
  4. Participants gained practical insights into reading values from forms and explored the nuances of conditional-based routing, enhancing their proficiency in real-world IT applications.
  5. Gaining hands-on experience with Django and MongoDB Cloud, we enhanced our practical skills for real-world IT projects.
  6. Provided valuable insights into Postman for API testing and creation, emphasizing the critical role of documentation in ensuring project clarity and success.
  7. Empowered attendees with practical skills in searching, insertion operations, and Git versioning, fostering confidence for real-world application.
  8. The 8-day Full Stack Development workshop, guided by Anish S Nair at II MCA, concluded with a comprehensive understanding of login authentication, CRUD operations, teamwork dynamics, and React application development, empowering us with practical skills for real-world scenarios.

 The "SpeakUp" class activity proved to be an effective means of honing our language skills with enhanced fluency and precision. Participants engaged in structured discussions, debates, and impromptu speeches, promoting the art of articulate communication.



We tackled diverse topics, refining our ability to express complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Our instructor provided constructive feedback, emphasizing grammar, vocabulary, and effective rhetoric. This activity heightened our confidence and competence in public speaking and improved our overall linguistic proficiency.





"SpeakUp" has undoubtedly been a valuable tool in sharpening our language skills and promoting eloquent and precise communication.

Farewell and Best Wishes: MCA Seniors Embark on New Horizons






 On November 13, 2023, a heartfelt "bon voyage" was bid to the graduating seniors of the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) program in a moving and memorable ceremony. This event marked the culmination of their academic journey, and it was a time for reflection and celebration. Faculty members, family, and fellow students gathered to express their best wishes to the departing seniors. Speeches were delivered, highlighting their achievements, dedication, and the knowledge they had acquired during their time at the institution.

Activity:

The IT Finishing School workshop at II MCA on November 07, 2023, was an enriching experience. Anish S Nair, our resource person, guided us through Bootstrap and HTML, offering insights into web development. We grasped Bootstrap components, HTML structure, and the art of integrating CSS to enhance web design. Anish also shared valuable shortcuts and tricks that can significantly boost our efficiency.



The Bootstrap grid system fascinated us, making responsive web layouts seem achievable. Hands-on exercises challenged us to create multiple responsive HTML pages, solidifying our skills. We're excited to continue our web development journey, thanks to this workshop and Anish's guidance.

 The matches will be in knockout form and will be in individual format.

 Opponents will be randomly selected by shuffling. One of them will be assigned to create the match room.

 Any delay in joining the match as per the declared time will cause termination from the match. There won't be any re-consideration.

Any issues due to the device or internet connectivity are not our matter of concern, kindly take care of it by yourselves. 

The decisions of the coordinators will be final.

 Game Guidelines: 

✨ The match has a strict time limit of 10 minutes, with no additional time allowed. 

✨In case of a tie after the 10-minute mark, a penalty shootout will determine the winner.

✨The final rounds will have a time limit of 15 mins and extra time will be available.

✨The total Collective strength of the teams should not exceed 3,000.

✨Online ranking is not a mandatory consideration for this match.
