The trip was full of amazing experiences. Our journey started from Kuttikkanam on 17-08-09 with a small prayer. We reach Pathanapuram and had breakfast at 8.00am and we reached Trivandrum. We took rooms there at hotel ‘Al-Saj’ and had a half an hour rest. After lunch we set our mind to ISRO. Ajesh Philip, our leader went to ISRO to ask for permission to visit. We reached ISRO at 1.00pm. One of the eminent person of ISRO ‘Mr.Vettor Sasi’ described the full history of ISRO. We saw so many models of satellites there he told that , the first satellite from India was ‘Aryabhata’. Under the leadership of Dr.A.P.J Abdhul Kalam a vehicle to launch a satellite was build. The first such vehicle was SLV. It was small, it contain only a small satellite, because of this drawback the ASLV, GSLV, PSLV was bulid. At last India was successful in launching a good satellite. He showed us the videos of that launch too. Another successful mission was the ‘CHANDRAYAN’, a satellite to moon which gives the photos of moon with good quality. At the end of its description he told that we all can do something for the improvement of such launch in ISRO and he welcomed us for that. After the visit we went to Kovalam and spend the whole evening there. We returned back to our rooms at 6.30pm and after dinner we had a good sleep.
Next day on 18-08-09 we started our journey after breakfast at 7.30am. Then we reached ‘Pathmanabapuram’ palace at 10.30am, took entry pass and went inside. There was a guide to explain about the palace. We took so many photos inside the palace.After that we left palace at 12.30pm and reached Kanyakumari at 2.00pm.
After lunch we went to ‘Vivekanantha Rock’. On that day we spend onehour for purchasing also. After that we went to see the sunset, then we set our journey back to our college. At 9.15pm we had dinner. At 4.30am on 19-08-09 we reached our Marian campus.
After this amazing trip we got a lot of information about ISRO. We got an opportunityto mingle with each other and we so thank our department for arranging such an amazing trip.
