Workshop On Subnetting & OSPF

Report on the Session by Shyam Sebastian On Workshop On Subnetting & OSPF

Venue: I MCA Classroom
Date: 07th August 2025
Time: 02:30 PM to 03:30 PM
Resource Persons: Shyam Sebastian

A one-day online workshop titled "ROUTECRAFT" was organized to provide students with an in-depth understanding of subnetting and the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol. The session was conducted by Mr. Shyam Sebastian, a Technical Training Consultant at IPSR Solutions Ltd., who joined the participants virtually to share his expertise in the domain of networking.

The workshop focused on foundational and advanced concepts related to IP subnetting and the implementation of dynamic routing using OSPF. Mr. Shyam Sebastian used the Red Hat Linux Administration System to deliver a hands-on session, demonstrating practical configurations and real-time examples that allowed students to visualize and apply the concepts being taught.

During the session, students learned how to calculate and design subnets, configure IP addressing schemes, and implement OSPF routing in a Linux environment. The workshop provided them with practical exposure to key networking operations, highlighting the significance of subnetting in network planning and the efficiency of OSPF as a routing protocol.

The session was highly interactive, encouraging students to engage with the resource person through questions and live demonstrations. The workshop helped participants gain a clearer understanding of how theoretical networking concepts are applied in real-world scenarios, especially in Linux-based systems.

Overall, the "ROUTECRAFT" workshop was an informative and skill-oriented experience that enhanced the participants' technical knowledge and confidence in networking, particularly in the use of subnetting and OSPF in a professional setting.
