    Download Rupee Font

Fret no more about downloading the rupee symbol on to your computer. The symbol may take a while to appear on the keyboard but can right away be typed as a character, thanks to a newly-created font.

Mangalore-based Foradian Technologies Pvt Ltd has created a font called Rupee_Foradian. It can be downloaded from the company’s blog site — http://blog.foradian.com — and used for free.

Font and Installation details are given in the following link.

    Rupee gets a new symbol

India  finally got a symbol for the Rupee and joined a select club of countries whose currencies have an unique identity.
The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved the design, which includes both the Devnagiri 'Ra' and the Roman capital 'R' and has two parallel lines running at the top. The parallel lines symbolise the equal to sign.
