PRE-PLACEMENT TRAINING

REPORT ON PRE-PLACEMENT TRAINING

Date: 21,22  August 2025
Time: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Venue: Logos
Resource Person: Dr. Brijesh George John (Placement Officer), Krishnaraj S (CEO at Synergy Thoughts and Master Trainer at ICT Academy of Kerala)

The Pre-Placement Training session organized by the PG Department of Computer Applications, Marian College Kuttikkanam, commenced on 21st August 2025 with an engaging and insightful session.

The first day began with an awareness session conducted by the resource persons, where students were given a clear idea about the importance of pre-placement training and how it would help them in shaping their careers. The session highlighted key skills required to face interviews confidently and succeed in the corporate world.

Following this, the participants were divided into teams and were given the task of introducing themselves within their groups. This activity helped everyone to build confidence in speaking and also encouraged peer interaction.

Meanwhile, one of the resource persons conducted face-to-face interview rounds with the students individually, which gave them a real-time experience of an interview scenario. This exercise was highly effective in identifying strengths and areas for improvement.

Later, a group activity was conducted where students were assigned the task of conducting interviews among the members within their own teams. This not only enhanced their communication and presentation skills but also gave them a chance to understand the interview process from both perspectives – interviewer and interviewee.

Overall, the first day of the training was interactive, practical, and confidence-building, setting the right tone for the upcoming sessions.

Day2

The second day of the Pre-Placement Training held on 22nd August 2025 was equally engaging and activity-oriented. The session was led by Mr. Krishnaraj S, who emphasized practical learning through interactive tasks.

The day began with students being divided into teams and assigned topics to prepare and present a short skit in English. This activity aimed at improving communication, teamwork, and creativity while boosting students’ confidence to express themselves in English.

Following this, the remaining students participated in an interview activity within their groups, where each member got the opportunity to play both interviewer and interviewee roles. This helped in understanding the dynamics of interviews and gave valuable practice for real scenarios.

Next, a Group Discussion (GD) warm-up activity was conducted in an innovative format. Students were arranged in two concentric circles and were given a topic to discuss. As one member spoke, the opposite member had to actively listen. After each round, the circle rotated, ensuring everyone got the chance to engage in discussions.

Finally, the session concluded with a formal Group Discussion (GD) within the teams, where topics were given by the resource person. This provided a platform for students to showcase their critical thinking, listening, and debating skills, which are essential in placement selection processes.

The second day of training was highly interactive and effective in preparing students for the real challenges of interviews and group discussions, giving them a strong foundation to face placements confidently.
