FinTech Essentials: Tools & Trends – A Domain Expertise Workshop
The PG Department of Computer Applications organized a three-day workshop, “FinTech Essentials: Tools & Trends,” from 3–5 June 2026 for II MCA students. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Davis Joseph, an experienced trader and financial market trainer.
The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of finance, investment planning, and financial markets. On the first day, participants explored financial assets, banking systems, investment options, and the importance of asset allocation and diversification. The session also highlighted valuable resources for improving financial literacy.
The second day focused on stock market fundamentals, trading mechanisms, and the functioning of major stock exchanges such as the BSE and NSE. Through practical demonstrations and real-world examples, students gained insights into market trends, investment opportunities, and risk management.
The final day covered trading strategies, stock selection techniques, portfolio management, and the significance of disciplined investing. Students were introduced to concepts such as market capitalization, stop-loss orders, ETFs, and portfolio diversification.
Overall, the workshop provided valuable exposure to personal finance, investing, and financial technology, equipping students with practical knowledge and a better understanding of financial decision-making in today's digital economy.
